Aus: René Primevère Lesson, Histoire naturelle des oiseaux-mouches (Paris: Arthus Bertrand 1829-1830). – Rechts unten signiert: ″Teillard sculp.″ Unterhalb der Darstellung betitelt. – Partiell unscheinbar fleckig. Sonst guter Zustand.

Teillard (Ende 18./ Anfang 19. Jh.). Französischer Kupferstecher in Paris. Lieferte Tafeln zur "Histoire naturelle des oiseaux-mouches" von Lesson (1829/30).

Jean-Gabriel Prêtre (1768 Genf - 1849 Paris). Schweizer naturwissenschaftlicher Maler. In Paris Schüler bei Gerard van Spaendonck. Zunächst als Maler an der Menagerie von Kaiserin Joséphine de Beauharnais am Schloss Malmaison tätig. Später als Naturmaler und -zeichner am Muséum national d’histoire naturelle. Schuf unzählige zoologische Darstellungen, viele im Auftrag der Herzogin von Berry.
